https://www.azquotes.com/author/7392-Thomas_Jeffersonhttps://www.keepinspiring.me/thomas-jefferson-quotes/Sample of his quotes: Experience hath shown, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny. The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. A Bill of Rights is what the people are entitled to against every government, and what no just government should refuse, or rest on inference. When injustice becomes law, resistance becomes duty. I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

Of all the tyrannies that affect mankind, tyranny in religion is the worst.

Of all the tyrannies that affect mankind, tyranny in religion is the worst. Yeah, that's what Mao, Stalin, Lenin, and Pol Pot said too.

You gotta be careful with this one... You'll be labeled a crazy zealot and possibly end up in jail for posting such a radical thought... Dan

Of all the tyrannies that affect mankind, tyranny in religion is the worst. Curious what you mean- not saying you are wrong it’s just such a broad term that means different things to different people.

the British ministry have so long hired their gazetteers to repeat and model into every form lies about our being in anarchy, that the world has at length believed them, the English nation has believed them, the ministers themselves have come to believe them, & what is more wonderful, we have believed them ourselves. yet where does this anarchy exist? where did it ever exist, except in the single instance of Massachusets? and can history produce an instance of a rebellion so honourably conducted? I say nothing of it's motives. they were founded in ignorance, not wickedness. god forbid we should ever be 20 years without such a rebellion. the people cannot be all, & always, well informed. the part which is wrong will be discontented in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive; if they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty. we have had 13. states independant 11. years. there has been one rebellion. that comes to one rebellion in a century & a half for each state. what country before ever existed a century & half without a rebellion? & what country can preserve it's liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? let them take arms. the remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon & pacify them. what signify a few lives lost in a century or two? the tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. it is it's natural manure. our Convention has been too much impressed by. . . I believe this quote is one of the most misunderstood quotes used today. He was not talking about people using force to change the country. He was talking about society allowing people to rebel. Uninformed people rebel and we should tolerate them and educate them is what he said. Informed people go through the process to change things, by the Constitution.

Allison you are such a blowhard clown- the colonials should just bend over and continue to take it- they’d still be petitioning the king to this day. I still want to see x rays I have no doubt you are spineless.

What would it take for Allison to prove he is a hero like you

"It is better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt."
Attributed to Mark Twain, but there is doubt about it. Supposedly it was actually said by Maurice Switzer. You can Google him if you wish. The fact remains that it is a truth, no matter who said it.
