What are the real benefits to joining? Is it worth it?
There's also the allegedly more conservative AMAC.
I have an offer through our ADP discounts to sign up for 5 years on AARP for a very low price.

Aarp lost me with obama care- I joined Amac but didn’t really use any of its benefits, just didn’t seem very good-
But the amount of spam and other irritating things that I suspect resulted from when I think Amac sold my information was bad enough I never renewed -
What has happed to you does not define who you are-
HOW you react to what happens to you DOES!

AARP is basically an insurance co. and not an advocate for seniors. Most of the benefits they offer in the way of discounts - hotels, restaurants, Medicare advantage plans, etc. are things you can get on your own and in most cases at a better price. Here's a pretty good article about AARP and their insurance business and how much they make in royalties from their Medigap plans. AARP Insurance

Also, most of the time you can find the AARP discount code somewhere online and use it. No one checks to make sure you're a member. I never joined AARP, but when I rent a car I enter the AARP discount code (if I can't find a better discount) and it's always accepted.

We are AMAC members. I like their magazine. They may not have as many perks as AARP but AMAC is strictly Conservative. I can read it without throwing up. I wouldn't wipe my azz with an AARP magazine or mailer. They are a beacon for libtards.
