I had to pull the rope back as far as needed, Than use mallet to put rail in place and pop rivet it back silcone, and beat rope back in grove,

be sure to use the screws with the adhesive on them the hotter the weather the easier.

I put a new rub rail insert in last summer containing blacklights. Pulled the old insert, took a wet rag and clean the rub rail, check to make sure all the screws holding the rub rail are tight. Put some baby oil on a rag and lube the rub rail... If it sunny lay the insert in the sun to warm it up... Pretty easy job... Dan
