Coming up from Ray Roberts area and wondering if there is somewhere that sells them or does everyone cast net their own?

Apologies, did not realize this was an FAQ on here. Been a member here a long time and have never seen it discussed. I will do a search...

It is illegal to sell shad on the Oklahoma side. I don't know of anybody who sells them on the Texas side. Everybody who uses them catches their own. Shad stay in deep water on Texoma, so the only way to be successful is to use a fast sinking net with at least 1 1/2 lbs of lead per foot. A couple of weeks ago I watched a guy throw a light weight walmart net until he was worn out, and he came up empty everytime. I felt bad for him, so I offered to catch him some bait. I threw my net one time and loaded up in the exact spot he had been throwing.
