So Bass did literally nothing lol. A trail that a lot of folks dont even know exists that I currently recognize a whopping total of 12 names on the current roster banned it in a wing and a prayer to become relevant in the bass fishing industry again and the third trail did something just about as goofy as their actual competitions and offered a hybrid version which is about as dumb as catching the most little fish.

The end.

At the very least, NPFL is now in people's heads a bit and their stance and willingness to actually do "something" before anyone else gets my respect.

Do yourself a favor and just listen to the podcast. He provides the justification for their move and the process by which they came to their conclusion. He is almost "prophetic" in his explanation. He is not anti FFS and that is why the interview was so fascinating to me.

I am with you on this, his podcast with Luke Dunkin is actually better than the BTL one IMO.

I did not listen to that one but I will now that you reminded me. I remember now him saying that he did go into more detail with Luke than Pangrac on BTL. And yes, the whole military thing got me to thinking as well. I just thought he was very forthcoming with a lot of stuff BASS and MLF do not address. Really, I guess he has nothing to lose and all to gain. The more I think about it, the more sense it makes for them to do this.

Everything on your bass boat is broken......You just don't know it yet.

BASS is attempting to level the economic playing field. Essentially a spending cap. It's widely known that the electronic companies don't provide a ton of sponsor dollars to anglers, so most guys pay for this out of pocket. It helps protects the anglers' pocketbooks so maybe less go bankrupt each year. While still allowing those who do not know how to fish without FFS to use it. I think it's a good move.

They did absolutely nothing besides get rid of the brakes. Literally their rule change did absolutely nothing except make it more difficult to livescope in rough water.

They cut down on the number of screens and transducers. Lots of guy were running livescope like sidescan that won’t work anymore- this is going to save people thousands per year on equipment. They didn’t get rid of livescope because that would be a stupid move.

That was a big gimmick to sell transducers and everybody knew them on the back was a stretch. The tech didnt really work as noted because it has no memory like side scan- that entire deal for the majority was a stretch to sell product. Only a few guys were actually UTILIZING IT to find more fish. The number of screens to 55 inches is laughable- thats a lot of screen still and doesnt change much imo. The scopers will still dominate. Bass as far as im concerned wouldnt have changed the outcome to a single event this past sesason with these changes.

I will say that it would have been fun to watch, if they had made FFS guys use 7” graphs only. (Maybe 9”, I don’t know if they even make 7” anymore). Surely the old veterans would have been happy then, right?

I can’t afford $30,000.00 worth of equipment, so it matters very little to me. It’s a battle between the old veterans and the young guys coming up the ranks.
