If rumors are true, sounds like we will have one league with a ban (NPFL), one league with basically no changes (BASS), and one league with a hybrid system (MLF **if rumors are true**). Sounds like the best scenario to me. People can pick what they want. With that said, my guess is that viewership numbers for all leagues will be basically the same as this year. For me personally, I like the hybrid system the least of them all. Format wise I have no issues with it. Just seems like yet another rule that is impossible to enforce, and ripe for controversy.

But you enjoy a guy beating the bank? He is just staring down at the water near the shoreline- it’s really no different.

Casting at water- the same thing the “scopers” are doing… it’s no different you are staring at the back of a overweight dude in flip flops talking rambling on about this or that…

I read the article by the committee member on the Bass site. The were clearly very thorough on the process of adopting the new rules. It certainly levels the playing field on FFS. I think it's a great step in the right direction.

I don't understand how some of you say BASS is not making any changes. This year a good number of anglers were utilizing 4 FFS transducers, 6 screens (3 bow, 3 console) and sometimes rear brakes (remember the Chris Zaldain video of 50k on electronics video). It puts the rules more like what people were doing last year where you have 4 screens (2 bow, 2 console) and one FFS transducer.

I listened to the BTL podcast with Brad Fuller yesterday (NPFL President/CEO) I listen to all the fishing podcasts and this is BY FAR the best 40-50 minutes I have heard in a very long time.

Never heard of the dude and barely heard of NPFL, BUT I will say I was very impressed with this guy. His views, his optimism, his vision is nothing like anything I have heard from Boyd or the crew at BASS. He is driven and very highly motvated!

At the very least, NPFL is now in people's heads a bit and their stance and willingness to actually do "something" before anyone else gets my respect.

Do yourself a favor and just listen to the podcast. He provides the justification for their move and the process by which they came to their conclusion. He is almost "prophetic" in his explanation. He is not anti FFS and that is why the interview was so fascinating to me.

Your exactly right. I was not trying argue one side or the other...simply giving the man and his organization props for actually having the sack to do SOMETHING and lead men instead of trying to appease the masses. I could care less what decision was made.

I am with you on this, his podcast with Luke Dunkin is actually better than the BTL one IMO.

I agree. His comment on the military having this technology for a long time, and seeing how advanced that technology is now certainly got me thinking. Is this technology heading to a point where it really is no longer fishing? I have no idea, but he certainly seems to think so. In the end though, I applaud him for making the decision he thinks is right for his business. I also applaud him for making this decision early so guys on his tour that don't like it can make a decision on their future that is best for them.
