So we know how Ivie has shinned with FFS. And a few other lakes. But Fork hasn't seemed to produce the 10+ or bigger bass . My thought was FFS would kind of be the measuring stick to judge Fork. Is it declining that much ?

Fork needs a few years off....it still get hammered for whatever reason but the DD fish are not there much.....time, grass, food, fertilizer....it's not rocket science, though they sure act like it is

Not at all. Fork doesn’t set up like Ivie for chasing those fish on FFS. Those dudes used to come to fork and tell you to expect giants but it never happened. It was always crickets after telling you they were coming to catch a SAL.

Not to mention constant fishing pressure and year round tournaments.

Fork is telling you about Fork. The lake has changed due to age, fluctuations in water level, loss of grass, fishing pressure over time, sand bass increasing etc etc.. Once they put that big pipe in to move water it was never going to be the same.

It's telling me to keep my butt up shallow amongst those less pressured fish and do the same thing I've done for years out there. Catch some here and there. Have more good says than bad days and catch some big ones at least somewhat consistently. Then again I've been told this is not possible. Those fish don't exist there and you can't catch them like that there and so forth.

I have spent a total of 10 days on Fork and have maybe 5 fish to show for it. Most frustrating lake I have ever encountered.

And then the pros go there and catch what 130. Lbs. in 4 days!! Doesn’t add up The top 10 anglers weighed 1,182lbs of fish in four days and that doesn't count any fish they released or culled. Pretty amazing. They're in there!

Every adult bass in fork has a PHD in bogus artificial lures. They have seen just about everything in all the likely places. No doubt, there are lots of good fish in fork, and the pros have a knack or ability to find them that most of us do not. Good example is the young fella from Maine using a 3/4 ounce brown jig and FFS catching 100 lbs+ in areas like the yacht club, clear of timber where no one fishes because there isn't any cover. The true giants are not there in numbers like they once were, but there is plenty of 7 to 9's.

Fork is missing entire year classes of fish due to drought a decade ago. This year or next we should start seeing sharelunkers again
