Is there a more comfortable reel handle if you like to palm your reel? Trigger seems do dig into my hand when I jig fish.

Not sure about shelf brands but many reel seat variations available for custom builds including no or low triggers.

Yes there are depending on the reel seat they use on the rod. Some are designed way better than others.

I feel like this also depends on the profile of your reel (low profile or round).

The ECS has the trigger further back and more blank exposed. This makes the contact area under the reel smaller and the exposed blank makes for more physical contact , increasing sensitivity. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2024/09/full-93588-240730-img_2208.jpeg)

Besides a custom build can you get this on a rod off the shelf? A bunch of manufacturers use this reel seat. It is what Falcon uses on a bunch of their rods.

Hand size would be another factor in this as well. What might be comfortable for one guy may be awful to another. If you are around any rod business facilities like Dobyns in Sulphur Springs, Texas, they'd probably let you try out all their variations. Going to Bass Pro or Cabelas would probably give you the most options to try out in the retail world.
