Title (easier to read if here): DFW: After a big rain like this what do the crappie do?

I had an answer for this a long time ago, but I can't remember.

Not sure what the conclusions should be but I'll speculate a little.

Water will be cooler in general.

Some brushpiles that were too shallow are on their way to the good depth. And some that were good are now suddenly not.

We didn't have rain for awhile - this is a sudden change and honestly it was tough fishing out there. Odds are, it will be better!

What say the wiser folks? (Yea yea the really wise ones keep their mouth shut)

Some people just like catching. I like fishing.

I don't think a rain like today would change much at all. It was a slow soaking rain and I don't think much ran off into the lake

The cloud cover always spreads them out, water temps were 83 on Monday in North Texas, they normally don’t start heading or transitioning from vertical structure to horizontal structure and creek channels till mid October. And it always rains around the opening of Dove season.

Maybe it will cool the water off and get em fired up!! It's nearly time for them to get chomping good again! I enjoyed my last 2 months off. Got hot the other day, it sneaks up on you.
