I don't give 2 turds about Randy and love FFS. However, the reasons they stated for the ban are very good in my unwanted uneducated opinion. Bass fishing is a recreation and a BIG business. While 80% of the people fishing in America don't have FFS (yes, the number is at least that high), FFS is absolutely having an effect on the 20% of the industry that drives the overall economics of it. Look at iCast this past year....everything said FFS this, FFS that. Literally it was like it was the only form of fishing right now. I would expect at least one of either BASS or MLF to follow suit in some form. I could see a partial ban of allowing it during practice but not during live tourney.

What about 360? heck side scan?. I'd keep GPS for safety reason, cause no one can navigate anymore.

I would guess the 98 percent of people who fish don't have it. I would say 80 percent or more of people who fish tournaments do. I listened to the Casteldine/Ish podcast few days ago and the top selling bait and top selling Rod part reminded me that most people who fish don't give a ratz arse about anything going on in the tournament industry.

So I am one that does not understand the problem. I know I'm in the minority on this subject I know its been beat to death, I'm not here to defend it. If I have a FFS on my boat, and I'm not banned from using it, I want to watch other's using it. So it might be true that 80% of fishermen do not have it, and therefore don't care about watching fishermen utilize the technology.
I'd tell ya the the percentage of ownership is higher than 20%, prolly more like 30-40%, but 20-40% of those that have it, do not utilize it.

I think 80 percent on the guys fishing tournaments, buying bass boats, etc have it. I think the group I just described makes up a tiny portion of people who fish. When the top selling rod is part of a cheap combo at Walmart that says something. I would agree that a large portion that have it don't use it much or to its capacity. I use it all the time and suck so bad with it I would be better off just turning it off.

So they will now be one the Seniors Fishing League for all those who can no longer learn. I enjoy scoping & enjoy tournament fishing. I used to be against banning anything A-rig or FFS. As times gone on and we have learned more about it I think ALL pro circuits should ban it. If you want to use it fun fishing do it, it’s a great time. If you want to have homerun derby with aluminum bats feel free. It’s such a dominant tool it overshadows versatility. There are many great techniques that just can’t compete to minnow shaking an inch from a fish nose.

James you are so good at catching fish when others are struggling at the highest of levels in the industry. Honestly, FFS hurts guys like you, when the mid anglers can now catch the fish you had learned to catch a long time ago pre FFS. Hope all is well

Hope all is well Thanks Douglas J, Honestly I picked a good time to step back & start a family. I live a little more than an hour away from Ivie now. You better believe I scope a lot. I just remember watching KVD on the ledges at Kentucky Lake or Rojas Frogging, Hackney & Brauer flippin jigs. It was so much fun watching Bassmaster. Now I see everyone looking straight down and it’s lame to me. Literally there is a pro that said he doesn’t know seasonal patterns and doesn’t care. He has a screen that if he trolls enough will show him fish. It’s all he needs. Maybe I’m just getting old. Either way I enjoyed watching a variety of different styles, not guys fishing with fuzzy mirror dice!

Didn't you win that one?

I like the idea and wish them well. Gives so called big time anglers another choice.
If you don't like FFS, now you have a big money circuit to fish. Show us what you got. Get on 'em, Randy.
If you do like FFS, you still, at least for now, have places to go. Show us what you got. Get on 'em, college boys.
Get off the keyboard, get a fishing pole in your hand.

Douglas J,
I fished their first year and finished top 20 in AOY. Then they didn’t have a championship as announced. I fished part of the following season but couldn’t fish but 1/2 of it. WSOB guy disappeared back to Cali. I’m fishing the Bass Nation Nationals on Grand this fall. Top 3 make the classic.
