Nate, I believe they max out at around 1-2lbs usually.

Pretty fish! I had a spawning pair in an aquarium when I was young. Boy do they get an attitude when they've got a batch of little ones.

Hope you didn't get into that poison ivy when you took the picture.

Llindex - Thanks for the P Ivy concern. I usually bundle up pretty well when fishing that area as it's so dense with vegitation, mosquitoes and other crawling itchy things. Snakes are abundant and really it's just a pretty nasty place to fish in the summer. When I gear up like that it's so hot the sweat just rolls off like an NBA basketball player. I think I lose a pound for every 10 minutes I'm in there. Then the water is so skinny and vegitation so thick you can't really cast and if you do you usually hang up or have to move the lure so quick that it's to fast unless the fish are real aggresive. I actually caught that fish on a cane pole. I'm going to post a picture or two after I get the courage up to go back down there. smile
