I don't hunt dove but if I did I'd use my late 1960's Remington Wingmaster in 16 ga. with mod. choke.
Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

Mostly use a Browning BPS 12 ga. Usually with a light modified choke.
If doves are flying in low, close and fast I'll use a 20 ga Ithaca SKB SxS with fixed Skeet and Skeet.
Around 20 or so years ago, I got a limit in about 15 minutes just after the clock hit legal
I was on a fresh harvested wheat field. Never came close to that again in all my years.

The last time I hunted dove I used my Weather 28 ga. Improved.

These days usually a SXS 20 ga. Skeet or IC chokes.
