Set the alarm for 5:00 a m… turned it off and slept 3 more hours, on the water around 10..


Looking good as the parking lot was almost empty.


Had my graph working for one hour before battery is completely drained. Thought for sure I had charged it, but guess not.


Nothing, not a bite in first hour. Time to move.

Beautiful day with light rain most of the day.





Ended up landing 7 to 21 inches… lost a bunch and had a good one bust me off that I got a look at… I’m blaming it on my equipment. Took my high speed Shimano Tranx off to be serviced and replaced it with Calcutta 250 with 15 lb test.. . Couldn’t reel fast enough.. that’s my story anyway.

the fish were schooling on top... saw the bait on graph before it shut off... 6 feet... almost every bite I got was throwing into a school ... once I figured out how to get them to bite 5 inch swimbait, I was paddling back and forth to fish on top. lots of activity from 3 until 6 p.m. there were some good ones underneath those schools. they wanted it a lot faster than I normally fish.. found out when I didnt get a bite and was hurrying up to throw again and had one come up and take it as bait came out of water.

I have to get there learn that lake and fish some. I have a great nephew that lives in Nacogdoches that wants me to take him fishing. Looks like a nice trip, hope you find out why your battery is going dead so quickly.

Went back Saturday... place was packed. Never saw a school of bass busting on top all day. Had my battery charged... took 24 hours to get a full charge on it..
Stayed close to the bank looking for grass... a lot of it has died off. Only caught 4 all day, missed three and had another one bust me off.. all on 5 inch swimbait.. another beautiful day.









Had two fat ones just under 20 inches that had to be close to 5 lbs . Heard of two 7s and a 9 caught today.
