Jerry Jones was born in LA on October 13, 1942. When he was just a baby, his family moved to Little Rock, Arkansas. At North Little Rock High School, Jones became known as the star running back. He later went on to attend college at the University of Arkansas.

He played football at the university and was part of the National Championship team in 1964.

Jones graduated in 1965 from college and was hired into his father’s company as the executive vice president. He later went on to receive his Masters degree in 1970 in business. He attempted several business ventures, with his most successful being the Jones Oil and Land Lease Company in Arkansas.

Despite Jones being the owner of the Dallas Cowboys for more than 23 years, some fans continue to dislike him. Whatever the reason, the one thing fans cannot deny is the success Jones brought to his team.

One thing he can say without question is he'll never meet a hater doing better than him at life....


Like him, hate him or just don't care about him as an NFL owner/GM but one thing is for sure and that is he has been pretty damn successful in life. He didn't get there by being dumb.

I would love the chance to hang out with him at hunting camp, I bet he is a hoot to be around.

Despite his business success he doesn't appear to be a smart person when the cameras are turned on.

Then he must be the luckiest man on earth.

Him cheating on his wife and disowning his daughter was a big turn off for me.

I never payed any attention to any of that, is that fact or a bunch of media bs ?

He has a big yacht.

Took a 1989 investment of $140MM and took it to $10B in 45 years.

Zero chance he is dumb.

Zero.

Dumb…no. Successful at life…depends on how you measure success. Some measure by wealth, other by an honorable reputation. He seems to have a lot of one and none of the other.

Got to spend a couple of business lunches with him. One time was in a group of 5 with Jerry only and one time was with he and Steven in a group of 8. Some very interesting stories were told. And no I won’t repeat them here. Those experiences did show a different person than you see in the media.
