In addition to installing a PRV, you might give your water provider a call to see if they are actually aware your pressure is that high. That is really quite high. The city can adjust pressure planes to an extent for different zones in their distribution system. You really don't want more than 80psi coming to your house. Anything more than that and code requires a PRV (pressure reducing valve) to be installed. Installing a PRV triggers other code requirements too, such as a thermal expansion tank for the water heater since the PRV creates a closed system...water can't flow back through the PRV. I would see if the city can reduce pressure first if this seems to be a recent spike in pressure.

Thanks, I just called city water and they are aware of it, and added that they have always had high pressure and suggested getting the PRV.. I guarantee the water never shot that far out of my hose before!
