I think I have about 16 that I carry, if the wifey is fishing I will throw another 5 or 6 in the boat. I only have to bring 4 extra if my wife comes along Your wife must not backlash too often, my wife seems to blow at least one rig up every time she comes along lol.

When I sold my boat, I took 17 combos out of the rod box. I used three of them regularly..

I already have to carry extra because we end up throwing same things. Now I stick a couple extra spooled reels.

One thing that helped me cut back on number of rods I carry is finding some really versatile models that can handle multiple techniques. I pretty well use same rod model for soinbervaits, buzzbaits, bladed jigs, swim jigs, smaller plastic swimbaits on jig heads ir weighted hookers etc. I can usually use it if around thicker cover and want to throw a squarebill.
I have some dedicated technique rods no doubt but finding those crossover rods has been nice.

I have some dedicated technique rods no doubt but finding those crossover rods has been nice. That is exactly what I did. My Chatterbait rig is also my Spinnerbait rig. My Swimbait is also for my Speedworm. My Swim Jig is also for my Flipping jig. My Shakey Head is also for my Wacky Senko. My Topwater is set up for my Frog, Buzzbait or Whopper Plopper. I do have 2 Texas rigs but one is set up for either my CrawTube or Bandito Bug while the other is set up for my Midsize and Baby Brush Hogs. I only have my Carolina rig set up for that only but I do use 5 different baits off and on depending on the lake and conditions.

Typically have 18-20 in boat. 6-8 on the deck....but watch out if you only see one on the deck.
Everything on your bass boat is broken......You just don't know it yet.
