If you have any specific questions, especially regarding 121 flying, feel free to hit me up. Work at Delta pilot training Would love to talk to someone about the use of the AVDGS system at KDFW for DL....

I would definitely have her check into drone piloting. Thats where the future is for pilots. Lots of jobs and high paying. The days of a pilot on most aircraft are coming to an end and the actual piloting jobs will be highly competitive and allow only the cream of the crop to fly. I think the compensation for captains is crazy - even non captains are making bank

My Dad flew planes for much of his young life and was later a flight instructor at the old Highland Park Airport. He co-owned a plane and as boys, me and my brother would ride with him.
One of my regrets is that I never had him teach me to fly.
Good for your daughter, Moto. We have SO many great young people these days!

You should definitely buy her a plane Moto. Be a good dad, don't be cheap. Hell, I thought racing was expensive. Flying is more expensiver. Next she will want to race airplanes! Congrats. She has a bright future ahead of her.

My SIL does plane maintenance at his local county airport.
That's mostly all I got.
I did have a neighbor that had owned several planes, two Bonanzas, one of which suffered engine failure about 20 miles out from Bermuda one Christmas Eve. He's not available as a resource as my in the pasture CPR was unsuccessful. Cool dude with great stories.
Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it !

Kind of curious what it costs just to get the ppl. I got mine in 1971. If I remember right it was $900.

Kind of curious what it costs just to get the ppl. I got mine in 1971. If I remember right it was $900. It's 50 hours. The first 5 hours is Sim. @ $280 per. The rest is flying at $400 - $600 per. She's flying twice per week. She's actually about to take off in 45 minutes or so.
