When I was in was high school, a mexican guy about 6' 275 thought he could jack w my girlfriend. I was maybe 5'10" 150. I was taught to never throw the first punch so he got in 1 pretty good lick. The thing about me is that my adrenaline gets going so fast when I'm in a fight I don't really feel anything. I got in a liver shot that bent him over and when he did I locked in a choke hold. I choked him out until he hit the ground gasping for air and puking. Talk about taking the fight out of someone where they can't come back at you. I taught my son the same thing a few years back when he was in high school. You choke someone out, they are no longer a threat and are not coming back for seconds. I'd kick you in the nuts first

I lost my edge and quit fighting when I let MOTO off with a stern warning instead of boat ramping him.

I’ve been training BJJ and Muay Thai for 20 years and fought MMA professionally for a couple of years. I’m now 44 and while I’ve got a few death matches left in me, I’m saving them for later. I’m in Baton Rouge on business right now, and went to a competition school full of 20 something-year-olds tonight. It was fun to mix it up with them. I plan on training into my elder years. Through all of my training and fighting, I’ve learned the best self-defense in the world… Courtesy.

I fought a lot in High School and early 20's. I lost a few but won a bunch (HS wrestler, big in sports and studied karate).
Back then (in the late 80's) you would fight a guy for fun and be done with it after or even become buddies. Then in the 90's you would have to worry about the knives or Louisville sluggers and after getting stabbed with a screwdriver, cut a few times and knocked the heck out from a bat to the back of the noggin, I started slowing down quite a bit. Then there was a little issue from getting sued by a kid's parent when I shattered his nose requiring surgery (wiggled out of that one too).
Then fast forward a few years and I got in a fight with my BIL and put him in the hospital for three nights. I got arrested, charged with battery and assault with a deadly weapon (sister claimed I used karate which I did not - he was 6' 2" and 220 and I was 5' 8" and 155 and cops bought it because of all the damage I did to him). Fortunately, I had my girlfriend/fiancé/now wife testify on my behalf that he had come out of his house, grabbed me and when I flipped him over and then started pounding on him that I immediately stopped when she told me to stop. The DA decided to drop all charges, but I was put on notice that I wouldn't be so lucky if I got into another altercation.
I still get in the occasional fight when needed (like the time I beat the crappie out of some guy in the World's Happiest place - Disneyland for pushing my daughter out of the way so he could see some stupid parade - Anaheim cops said he got what he deserved) but I try to make sure I am on the right side of the law before I do. My concern is I still have a pretty bad temper at times, and it will usually show up in a driving situation - like the time that some idiot wanted to pull off the road and have a discussion but was taken aback when I shot out of my truck, had the look of business in my eyes, grabbed his door handle to help him out of his truck and he got scared so hauled a-- from me leaving me standing there holding his door handle. When the cops showed up to my house, I explained the situation and gave them the handle and we all had a good laugh out of it.
My temper is what keeps me from packing all the time but I leave it up to others to decide if I am or I am not at the time.

I quit all that stuff when I turned 18 and things/consequences were gonna be real and probably follow me around for a lifetime. Now I'm too old to physically fight anyone, but my concealed draw time is not quite 2 seconds. There is a reason I dress like a bum. I ain't taking no beatin's.

As a former wrestler... I may have a chance... But I have no plans to find out... Dan He asked if you can fight not play grab a$$ with other men . Sheesh lol I hope your kidding- the last person you want to fight is a wrestler unless you can strike them real good before they get hands on you. I agree. I started wrestling in elementary, loved it. In junior high I went to boxing. Loved it even more. I missed the “age” of mma. But loved learning and practicing it later. I have written many a “paper” on violence. It is the most effective means of control known to man. The man who can contain his rage and then release it at appropriate time is a man to be “feared.” The man who has to “get” mad to do violence is no treat for he does not utilize rage. Violence and how it has been used in history by individuals is a really cool area of study. Cool thread. 👍
Jeremiah 7:28 KJV
But thou shalt say unto them, This is a nation that obeyeth not the voice of the Lord their God, nor receiveth correction: truth is perished, and is cut off from their mouth.
Galatians 4 : 16
Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?

Winning or losing isn't that big a deal, what is a big deal is making sure they don't want to do it again yes if it is fair there are no winners Why would anyone fight fair? Sort of like the object of war is to kill people and break things, the object of a fight is to hurt the other person bad enough to make them stop. Fair has no place in the discussion. Not talking about a competition, like a boxing match or MMA or something organized. I'm talking about the situation where you HAVE to fight.
