Took another trip to the colorado at parker, az, this time with one of my fishing buddies, and got into big redears and hybrids again. Not sure how many we caught but we went through 8 boxes of nightcrawlers so it was a few. We also had 15-20 nice smallies thrown in throughout the day as well. I threw my drop shot rig and the little guy used a slip float rig to help him detect strikes in the current. The fish didnt seem to care as long as the bait was at the proper depth. The river was busy with skiers, tubers, jet skis, and loud obnoxious speed boats, and had one guy blast into our off channel cove but it didnt seem to bother the fish and he was nice enough to apologize. When we got home with some of our catch, my partners older brother was quite upset with himself that he didnt want to get up early that morning to make the trip. Oh well, lesson learned i hope.
Edit; should have originally included pics of my co-pilot. He abandoned me on both the trip in and back. Oh well, at least hes good company when hes conscious.
Thanks. The kid went all day long. We got on the water a little after 7, i got him some lunch around 1230 and explored a little. We got back in the water around 3, then fished till sunset. Was his first all day session with dada, I was impressed. He earned a well deserved rest on the way home.
