I had the shop garage door open today while I was cleaning up the boat and stuff. Wife comes down to tell me its lunchtime and she notices two hummingbirds racing up at the ceiling from one end of the shop to the other. They are flying around 1 foot from the ceiling and keep trying to go up, back and forth, back and forth. We tried many things. Putting a feeder near the garage door entryway, I tried to catch them in the pool net while standing on a 12 ft step ladder, tried blowing them out with the leaf blower, etc. We must have tried for 4 hours to get them poor buggers back outside. They just would not dive down a few feet to go out the open garage doorway. Kept trying to go up. No luck So we put a feeder just out from the doorway and left it alone for hours. An hour ago, it is dark and I went out to close up the door and see if they were still there.

Yep, still there but man you could tell they were tired. Flying slow and resting. So once again with the wife holding a flashlight on em I finally caught one in the Pool net. Then I took him by the feeders on the patio and that one flew off up into the trees.

Then I had to chase the other one til I caught it in the net. Brought it up and I had to free it from the net. Then I placed him near a feeder we had on the ground. He just perched there and we gave him a little sugar water on a plastic spoon. Finally he got enough energy to fly up and perch on the ceiling fan out there. We have 3 feeders there and left the lights on so he could see the feeders. Hope they both make it. We have 4 of them now doing arial dog fights.

That is all, continue on.

Rescued one myself a month back when he trapped himself in the top of our gazebo and could not find his way out

This is what I do. Never been able to chase them out of my shop. Walk away, raise door all the way and they will find the way out. I did find a dead hummer in my shop once. It had been there for a while though.

They are both back to flying around and eating this morning. And buzzing each other. I had the door open all day. I close the door at night and they were still in there. They are not that bright apparently. If they would have just dipped down 3 feet they could have flown out.
