No. After 70 it goes off of their 5yr average. Then they get to drop their lowest year. Then you have to factor in exemptions. Then any of these rookies below 70 (not sure if there is any) get a second year. I don't know the exact formulas but I'm pretty close. I've always thought it was pretty complicated, which is probably by design.

It is a little complicated but not as much as the MLF BPT, I'm not even sure MLF know how their re-qualy system works.

Sure they do. Whoever B.D. and G.K. says is in is who is in.

It’s more than just top 70 for requalification. They take an average of several years for those who have been on the tour for a number of years and drop 1 year. Rookies get evaluated after year two. That’s the hardest to hold. You can’t have a weak first two years. Hard to qualify. Hard to stay as a two year angler.

A number mentioned in some way or other during the weigh in that they are done. Either out on elimination or decided not to fish again.

You would have to think Iaconnelli would be out. He qualified back through the opens. It will be interesting what BASS does with the legend exemptions.

Ike gets back in on his career average, just because he re-qualifed doesn't erase his past AOY finishes. Think that was one of the reason Hallman dropped out, factoring in his past average where he was cut once before was going to be a constant uphill battle.

BPT is very easy to calculate if you have minimum skill with Excel.

How can you calculate it when there are not hard set rules for BPT qualifcation, even Stefan said the understanding of how the rookies below the 45, now 46 line has changed.

Gone for sure:
Clunn
Talley
Clent Davis
Soukup

Rumored to be retiring/quitting:
Auten
Webster
Prince
Wendlandt

Based on the stats and how BASS cuts guys (which I'm still not 100% about) - based on finishing 70th or worse this year, looking at last 5 years average and dropping their worst year:

Schultz (70 avg)
Ike (75 avg) - but Ike only has 3 years so not sure how it works for him
Menendez (70 avg)
Mike Huff (68 avg)

Ed Loughran is also up there but I'm not sure who this year figures in since he had a medical exemption for a couple derbies.

Hudnall is also gone

Ike’s AOY finishes from 2006 to 2018 also come into play for his average, wouldn’t think he would be at risk. That previous AOY average is what kneecapped Brad Hallman, after year two of coming back it always going to be uphill battle staying qualified as he had been cut from the Elites previously.

I bet Ike retires. He kind of nodded at that on his podcast last week. Depending on who else retires they may not have to cut more than 2-3 people. They only have to open up 10 spots and 4-5 of those are already accounted for.

What about Keith Combs, he is a great fishermen and someone I've met numerous times. He has had a couple subpar years and didn't make the classic. Keith is one of the most underrated fishermen in the sport. But like a lot of veterans the scoping group has taken him out of his element.

Combs is in the top 70 so he is safe. Think Kreiger was on the bubble to be cut recently and is out of the top 70 so may be in danger, there are a few guys that keep taking medical exemptions, is there not a limit on that? Honestly they may not have to cut anyone if those 4 or 5 rumored to retire do.

They would be doing them a favor if they cut them. They could make more money delivering pizza
