I have a Powerpole lithium 3 bank charger. It was connected to my 12v cranking battery and 2 36v trolling batteries that were connected in parallel. I just installed a single power brake, and it runs on a 12v lithium battery. I took one of the 36v trolling batteries out and put the power brake battery in its spot. So, I have the 3-bank charger connected to cranking and the other leads connected to the 36v and the other leads to the other 12v. Now the bank charger won't charge them. Not sure if I need to get a different 3 bank charger or separate single chargers? Anyone have this problem?

I'm sure others will chime in, but first of all, assuming the battery charger is a 12volt charger, it is not made to charge a 36v battery. It might work for a while (slowly), but I would think it would eventually overheat or burn a fuse in and quit working. First, make sure you haven't thrown a breaker or fuse on the charger leads. Then take the 36v battery out of the mix and test the banks on the 12v batteries.

PowerPole has excellent customer service, their products need it. Well, because they are mostly not really that great.

I have had their products on my boat for years, they are always about halfassed working and it seems as though I only expect marginal performance.

In general, almost everything boat related is overpriced junk.

Happy Monday to you all. roflmao

The guy that owned the boat before me had one set of leads going to the cranking battery and two sets of leads going to one of the 36v batteries that was hooked up in parallel. I think the configuration I have now just won't work. It sucks because this particular charger costs $1500 and it does me no good.

Have you called them? I would. If it will work for your application, they will guide you to the right connections and settings.

Again, they have great customer service.

I swear, more people have problems with the PP Charge then any other charger out there.

Pretty sure I have a Dakota 36v Lithium charger that I won't be using...

I figured I would see if anyone had a similar problem first before I see what they have to say'

I would think you’d have to reprogram one of the 36v banks, back to a 12v. Unless it’s auto sensing, but doesn’t sound like it.

Did you go into the app and check it?

Ok, so I got off the phone with their customer service. The configuration I have won't work. What I can do is run the 2 12v batteries together and add the total amps on the app for those batteries. Then run the existing leads which are red, yellow and blue connectors to the positive on the 36v and the black to the negative. I appreciate everyone's input. You guys are always on your game.
