I’ve never owned a boat before, but I’ve got a guy wanting to trade me this boat. Trying to get a somewhat accurate value on it.

Year, make, and model will help in determining the value of that $5k boat

$3500-$4500…if it runs. $750 if it doesn’t.

No way to accurately determine without knowing the Year, Make, and Model of both boat and motor.

Condition determines price.
That motor is as reliable as any built in ever. But...it still should have compression tested. Look for leaks and test the trim motor, pull the screw out of the lower unit and look for water or chunks on the magnetized screw.

Tilt the motor up, and bounce the motor up and down, the transom shouldn't move. Crawl underneath and look for patches or repairs. Shake the tires for loose/worn out trailer bearings. If all that is good, AND you take it to the water for a test run, that's a $9,000 boat that would sell in minutes anywhere on the coast. Anything that needs attention, start taking that off the price.
