Passenger plane falls out of the sky in Sao Paulo, Brazil according to local media.

At the moment, it is not clear how many people were on board but the plane has the capacity to carry dozens of people.

The local fire department confirmed the plane fell in the city of Vinhedo but didn't give anymore details.

Flat spin in a plane that size seems really weird to me. Some type of catastrophic mechanical failure? Or a massive pilot screw up?

I heard it dropped 17,000 feet in 1 minute. They had to be nose down vertical.

Voepass ATR-72-500.
One of several possibilities. They probably had communications and if so we'll hear more soon.

This video is a little longer and shows the initial falter and smoke plume from the crash.
