HEB has pork butts on sale for 87 cents/lb., limit 2. There was a very nice selection of sizes (8-10+ lbs) at the new Mansfield store this morning.

Did you happen to look at the price of brisket? I was thinking about smoking one this weekend. Wait until the week before Labor Day. They will be on sale then. They always seem to be on sale The week before Memorial day, 4th of July, and Labor day. Kroger had them for $1.87 right before the 4th. I always buy a bunch then and stick them in the freezer.

HEB had just about all their pork on sale. I picked up 2 packs of 10 chops about $12-$13 total. The beef prices were ridiculous though. I went to the HEB in Frisco off Main. The new one at 423 and 380 was standing room only.

I wouldn't mind smoking a pork butt. I’m trying to quit drinking beer and loose some weight………With hear index of 107-109 whatever it is here in hot Humid League City, Tx. It would take a lot of beer for me to smoke a pork butt but better pass.
