What do yall know about it? Any fish in it? Drove by it today just exploring after our move to Tyler 3 weeks ago and was curious. Also any info on lake Jacksonville and Tyler? Feel free to DM me.

I don’t mind sharing my experience with Lake’s Striker and J’ville.
First off, Striker: It’s not that great but has some fish. The lower half is open, you can run it, idle the upper half, from the discharge north lots of stumps. Biggest fish, 8.5 came from the discharge. Best fishing, imo, is the north-shallow end where I’ve had some decent days. There is some cover -coontail, buck brush and pads. Watch out for the gators. Nice ramp close to the dam, another ramp called 8 ball up north. It’s worth a day trip to explore.
J’ville: Fished it hard and often from 2000-2010. It’s a beautiful lake with a great, free, ramp (Concession ramp). It was loaded with bass and hydrilla and the fishing was great. Had 3 over ten mostly punching grass, rattle trapping or just jig fishing docks. It’s was truly awesome til they put 3500 grass carp in it and turned it into, just my opinion, a mud hole. I haven’t done much catching since they killed the grass and I can’t get excited about it these days, too many other good lakes around. It is clear for running except Cat creek, hug the shoreline going in and out of there. The lake still fishes good day or night, guess I got burnt out on it.
I’ve fished Tyler. I know it’s a good lake. Lots of people could give you better advice than me.
Hope this helps.

PS. I coached in Brady from 94-1999. You’re leaving some great lakes behind you with Ivie and Brady. I’ve had 7 32lb+ days in my lifetime and 3 of them came from Brady.
Good luck, plenty of good lake’s within a 100 mile radius, don’t be afraid to look around.

I live on Lake Tyler. A neighbor sent a picture to me two weeks ago. 11 1/2 pounds, night fishing off his dock. There are some big fish in the lakes. Spend some time learning the Tylers.

I have been to Tyler twice and haven’t really figured anything out. Definitely doesn’t set up like the lakes out west where I come from. I’m a shallow guy by nature but haven’t been able to crack that code yet. I’m assuming those fish move deeper, idk. I don’t mind sharing my experience with Lake’s Striker and J’ville.

Good info. We drove by both today and Jacksonville does look like a fun lake so I may give it a shot sometime, striker as well.
