I did some searches and didn't find too much about crappie on this lake. Tpwd report looked good, but would like to hear from the folks here if possible.

We'll be going this weekend. If we can't find crappie we will try to find something!

Anyone know anything about bridgeport crappie?

Some people just like catching. I like fishing.

We won a tournament there a couple years ago. It’s full of crappie! We caught fish on brush, laydowns, and docks all over the N end of fhe lake and up in the river. Clear water. I was probably using 1/8 and 1/16oz bad Shad and Gingertruce if I had to guess!!

Minnows are working better than jigs right now with the summer heat There is a ton of bait fish this year so it has been a bit slower this year vs last year. Slewfoots guidance/analysis still holds true. There are plenty of sandbass and hybrids to mess with if the crappie are slow for you. Good luck!

Thanks for the tips all

It was a brand new boat and we spent some of our fishing time figuring out the boat, and once we got on the water it was slow.

The bridge yielded two keepers in the AM on a black and chartreuse tube jig.. we went back in the heat of the day and stayed under it and only caught one small catfish on a minnow.

All in all I like this lake - feel like at a better time of year, the same tricks that worked on lake palestine will work.
