Who is the Humminbird guru in the Tyler area? I’m having trouble with Ethernet challenges as well connection problems. Mega live works when ever it seems to want to. I can power on and it may not work for 5 minutes or 5 hours later. Idk what exactly the problem is. Installed a new Sea Clear wiring harness last year and have cleared up some challenges but seems to have created others. I’m ready to punt and get help! Anyone know who to take it to?

Not a guru bit have has the same kind of issues. Start with the simple stuff.
Good voltage, Got to have good voltage.
Connections on hub make sure they are tight.
Use a little electrical connection spray to clean and lube connections,
dont know what units you are running, but make sure all upgrades are current.

Sounds strange, but my fishing Buddy had some issues similar with live. It had more to do with which unit was powered up first more than anything.

Yes, power-up sequence does make a difference, at least in some Helix installations. In addition, using all 5 ports on the switch makes it less predictable.

Thanks! I’ll have to check that out. Now that I think about it, when I power up the units at the helm. it takes much longer to work. If it works at all. I’ve never been onboard with the loose connection theory.

I have lots of ethernet problems with my humminbirds as well. I've replace basically everything but the ethernet hub. New wiring, Replaced ethernet cables, etc. I'm convinced my problem is an internal issue in the hub. For now though restarting my front graph usually fixes my problem, and I have to restart it ALOT. I don't have mega live though. I do have mega 360 and use it alot. When my 360 stops working I restart the front graph and it works fine. Sounds like your problem is a little deeper than mine. I'm switching to garmin so I'm not even trying to dig any deeper into my issue. You might check with the guys up at Sartain Marine. They have helped me with some pretty complicated interference issues in the past with great results. They seem to have a very good relationship with Johnson Outdoors and can get parts warrantied that others can't. They are straight shooters. He will tell you if he doesn't think he can figure it out.
