I caught this at amistad today. Black stripes. Just curious since I’ve never seen one like it. [Linked Image]

Flat Head... They'll thump a jig and slowly ease off, set the hook and for a few seconds you'll be convinced you've got the state record... Then they go into the barrel rolling and it's oh chit... Can I please have my jig back... Dan

Very tasty eating fish, waaay better than channel or blues. I have caught several up to 35 lbs while bass fishing, normally it is May - June when they are up shallow spawning

belly meat, mmm mmm good. What did you catch it on? usually they will only take live bait. I've caught channels and blues on artificials but never a yellow cat

Never heard them called that. Opelousas yes not Appaloosa. I had to Google that. Cajun got many names for the same thing.
