Headed to Matagorda on Thursday for a few days. Does anybody know the surf conditions lately? Water color?

Anybody been to Matagorda lately? Are the reds thick yet? How about flounder and trout?

Anybody been to Matagorda lately? Are the reds thick yet? How about flounder and trout? was just there this last week for 2 and a half days of fishing the surf . We camped at the 18 mile plenty of bait in the surf but the fishing was not great . 3 of us caught 10 reds 2 under 2 over and 6 in the slot plus 1 trout. Plenty of small sharks hardheads and gaftops.

Just got back last night and ^^THIS^^ is what I mostly heard from everyone else. We went offshore and caught bottom feeders for the grill.
