Considering SeaArk Pro Cat 240 or Excel Storm at 21, have ridden in a Stormcat older model but no experience with SeaArk. And unfortunately no inventory in the North Texas area. Excel says new boat is usually delivered in 4-6 weeks. Can’t get SeaArk dealers to answer request for information. Thanks in advance for your input.

Good thing? Lots of choices Bad thing? Lots of choices.
What did you have in mind? Length? HP motor? Where are you going to use it? Any other things you want? Such as taking it to the bay? How many bodies you want to carry around? Tow vehicle?
There's a good number of "custom" boat builders that will build a superior hull than the mass produced junk on a dealers lot. Boatright, empire, scandy white, are a few that can fill the need.

I have not owned either but I went on a guided trip on lake tawakoni in a procat 240. It was a really nice catfish boat and had lots of room and comfortable seats. But it was a little rough riding in the big chop that we fished in. Other than that I really liked the boat.
Where will you be fishing at mostly?

I will be fishing primarily Ray Roberts, and it can get rough quick.

TXMN.. I don't own either, but I look at both of those boats quite offten. If your mainly fishing RR or other large DFW area lakes, and those are your only 2 choices I'd probably go with the stormcat. The stormcat has a deeper V entry and your going to want that when you hit rougher water. Just my take. I've considered getting one of these boats myself and then I change my mind because I get out in something rough and realize I'm just fine with the smooth ride I have.

TRH I am strongly leaning toward the StormCat for some of the same reasons, thanks for your input.

SeaArk initiated the first of todays “Catfish boats” and they’ve been in it a long time. The hulls are thicker aluminum and the grillage is supreme. You’re putting massive livewells on the boat and beating them on big waters, so structure is one of the most important factors. The Pro Cat series will be time tested and durable. Any new comer to this game has a long learning curve, as to what breaks when 80 to 100 gallons of water [640 to 800 pounds] hammers down on the structure. Cosmetics are not usually a factor, though the big Easy Cat does have all the crowd pleasers for family use.
Excel is made locally up here in Arkansas and they have cornered a segment of the duck, flat bottom and hunting boat business. They seem to be a fine company also and we think they’ve done a good job with their mainstays.
Call the SeaArk factory and speak to them directly.
