Where can I launch to get to the cliffs area? It's been a while since I been on Grapevine. I remember somewhat that there is a cliff area near the dam. Is there another cliff area not to far from a launch point?

Rockledge Park just North of the Lake Grapevine dam. $10 per vehicle. It fills up fast on the weekend.

Thanks for the recommendation. Looks like a great place to fish. I called them up and they said they don't open until 8am. I may try to see if I can find somewhere else on the lake with cliffs to get on the water earlier , if not I'll be there at 8.

The Flower Mound parks (Murrell & Twin Coves) are closed due to flooding. If you want to get on the water early (before 8am) , you could enter from one of the Grapevine town parks on the southside and paddle a couple of miles. Just be aware that the dam attracts wakeboard boats. Some of them are out there at dawn on the weekend.

On the south side you can put in at Katy Woods and paddle over to the Rocky cliffs near Silver Lake Marina and southeast corner of the dam.

When the south winds are blowing strong I think this is better option than North shore.

Slide right, coming in .... Fish On!

That's right.

Definitely Beware of the Wake boats. They're out there at sunrise on weekdays sometimes even... the dam is their go-to spot and around those cliffs. Ideal spot for big wakes... not ideal for a kayaker but by all means go for it! Just keep your head on a swivel for those big crazy wakes

Wakes can be tough when you have a fish on.
