As you look at your investment portfolio today and feel greedy and entertain delusions of grandeur. Possibly eyeballing the future yacht you plan to purchase since you have never lost money, always bought at the bottom and sold at the top how many are considering a bit of risk off type moves.

Yeah, not I. My future will portfolio consists of a lawn chair, white NB, Corvette, as I yell at you to stay off my freakin' grass.

For the long term investor.
Buy low (be more aggressive), sell high (or be more conservative) or rephrased When the masses are the most optimistic; sell (or be more conservative) When the masses are the most pessimistic....especially if panicking; buy (be more aggressive)

So the question is are you considering a risky type move?

I dollar cost average into the market each month in a few index funds and max my 401k every year. I also DCA into some crypto each month but it’s a very small amount. I’m trying to keep it simple.
I’m 40 years old and plan to retire in my late 50’s

I need to find a great way to retire on my $1.25 investment I'm ready to make? I'm ready to lay it all on the line here.

Always been a value player at heart. Value has had a very nice run in the last month so it's getting more challenging to find it.

Luckily for me my company allows us to stay on our medical benefits after meeting 55 years old and 25 years of service. I will meet both requirements so I shouldn’t have to buy on the open market. My wife and I can stay on that until I qualify for Medicare.

So the question is are you considering a risky type move? No, I'm considering moving out of some stuff. At least partially, at least to the point I can offset with a couple losses I have. I have a fair amount in cash type assets that are making about 5.2 percent. I'm considering padding those balances a bit more, get some bonus powder dry, I feel heavy in a couple positions and sectors and lighten up a bit. At 53 I still have time but I'm getting tired of 3 steps forward 2.5 steps back. In my mind I really don't want to expose myself to annual losses that exceed my annual interest income. Basically on a bad year I would essentially break even. If I can average 7 percent for the next 5 years I should be set up to cruise into retirement. As long as it's easy to make 5 percent with zero risk why take much risk. I have stood firm for a long time now and rode out a few nasty markets as many of you have. I'm ready to let the saddle sores heal.

5 percent a year with "zero" risk is a no brainer. Just do it.

And IRA and a 401k that I a perfect world will never get touched minus the rmds. But im not 45 yet so who knows that’s a long ways away. I’ve never messed with single stocks, just don’t know enough about it.
