I just wanted to see if Weatherford has been known for sandbass action? I have a half day tomorrow and wanted to explore a lake that was not too far from Fort Worth that doesn't get much air time..

In the late nineties, Lake Weatherford was great to fish for sandbass close to the dam and the aerators ! Don't know what happened !!

Well Ray Bob was a tough nut to crack. We did find some schoolers mid-morning out by the island close the dam. Other than that, they were not out to play anywhere we went.

I love fishing for sandies, I have tried several times to find any on Lake Weatherford. I have never caught one unfortunately. I have used both live bait and slabbed near the dam aerators with no luck. They certainly do have yellow bass in that lake though.

There's a few in there but the poor spawning conditions during the heavy drought of the 2010's and Yellow Bass have hurt them tremendously. Been wearin' out the Channels last couple weeks though.
