I have a Tahoe 2150 and bought it new in 2020. We take it on Waco Lake most often. Had a couple different anchors but none that hold us really great. We always seem to drift even if it's just a little bit. Normally it's not a problem but it could be on super busy lake days. Used most often when stopping to swim but sometimes when fishing or relaxing.
What type of anchor should I get to hold our boat firmly in place? What size?
Do you have 6 ft of heavy chain between your anchor and rope ? How much rope are you letting out ? Some sources say you need 7 x depth. that may be over kill , but I know you but I know that 2-3 x won't hold if there is any current or wind at all.
good Luck

I don't have 6+ feet of chain, just the small amount of chain that came on the anchor. We do let out a considerable amount of rope with it, best guess probably 30-40 ft of rope with the anchor. I'll look into adding more chain probably galvanized. Thanks.
That's a grappling anchor and not really designed for the sandy soft bottoms of a lot of our lakes, think of it that it needs to "grapple" something. - I would recommend a fluke anchor. Yes, chain will improve your holding power, but enough line to create an angle that allows the anchor to dig in will be more important.
