only saw one small bunch of top water feeders today. multiple guide boat out in front of state park but never seen anyone haul in a fish. graphed fish from damn to mccown but wouldn't look at anything artificial. water temp is 84 near the channel and 88 in some coves. found feeding black bass but striped bass could care less about what i was throwing. Maybe its just the water going down got them sick?

Very hard to catch non schooling Striper at Whitney without live bait this time of the year.

They didn’t bite live bait this morning either. Not much catching going on today, didn’t see any guides catch any either.

Was there yesterday and didn’t see any top action at all. It was a little breezy and harder to see though.

A slow day on the water makes a good day much better.

Guides depleted Whitney over the past 5. - 7 years. Fishing has gradually gotten worse each year. Its to small of lake to have so many guides pulling a full boat of limits once and sometimes twice a day. Richland Chambers, Towokoni, and Texoma are your best bet now. I know a couple of guides who have moved their operation to chambers after they depleted Whitney.

Lets see if the topwater action improves once they stop draining water....most predatory fish develop "lock-jaw" when water levels drop.

Went out last two days and still nothing on top, fished live shad and perch and still nothing. Catfish were the only thing wanting to eat

Once the lake level has stabilized, give it 2 weeks and the bite will be on!

T Bird, that sounds right! My wife and were there yesterday. We saw no schooling.

Tawakoni is lining up with Whitney, massive amounts of fish have been taken out the last 4-5 years. It’s starting to show how hard it is to catch there anymore.

I agree that might be the case for big fish. Big fish bite has been way off for me this year. I was thinking a lot of them went over the spillway. We have been getting plenty of big sandies. Early in June I thought the trick was 6 to 7" gizzards but not working lately. Last year we were getting a lot of big fish. I have seen the pattern play out on Hubbard. I attributed it to people keeping undersized hybrids.

I think this, yes top water is off. ( in deep water) lots of new area maybe if ya look shallow 7-9’
