There's enough room on the playground for everybody. Academy prices may line up against BP but Dick's will suffer.

The fishing section at Dick's sucks. I drive to both the Ray Hubbard and Bossier City Bass Pro stores now, so I'll be thrilled to have one across town.

Bass Pro has become much more diverse over the years, especially with apparel and footwear. Their acquisition of Cabelas really broadened what they offer.

If Bass Pro has more than one checkstand open during the first hour of business then they will be a mile ahead of Academy. Every time Academy opens, there are a dozen people waiting to get in; ypu rush in, grab your items and then go up front to find one checker and some idiot customer with credit cards that keep getting rejected or some other drama. After 10 minutes I usually drop my stuff on the floor and walk out. They have no clue on customer service
