Can’t help with this one. Cheapest reel in my lineup is a Bantam and even the JDM models are more than $200. Had a bunch of Curado 150 MGL’s which are right around $200 and they are a heck of a reel for the money. Haha WOW! Awesome response with the humble brag. Good to know you have a really expensive lineup! Should have just said the second half of your post. Get used to it Bor. Lotta that goes on in here. Oh I know. I have been on here for years. It's a fishing forum. Fishermen brag. I am also very well aware of the 10-15 experts with a million posts each. They know everything. I find it entertaining to read, then I do what I know to do.

That price point I would say Lews or Diawa. I give the nod to Lews due to the Tatula I have when palming the reel the cast adjustment control moves and a little more line capacity on the Lews models.

I've always said that there's about a dozen people in the world who know almost everything there is to know. What's surprising is that half of them are on this forum.

No doubt. It's hilarious. They all try to out expert each other. I have a million opinions too. I just figure nobody wants to hear me talk that much.

You should see the rods he mates those reels too, he’s got a DECK FULL of $1k+ combos. And he’s got the best looking boat. He really is living the high life. The only thing he messed up on? He bought a GMC. Let’s see some photos of that phoenix!

I've almost gone completely Lews....and I haven't paid retail off the shelf in a decade so most of them have been 100 or less...I may have 3 that I paid 150 for that were top of the line, but it's not necessary....as long as it's an aluminum frame model, they all respond well

I used the ABU Garcia Max Pro reels and they are awesome. I own some Lews MG series which is also in that price range. The ABU's are slightly better and have REVO technology in them. The biggest differences between these two is it seems like the ABU's cast further and the Lew's need tearing down and cleaning more often, they won't tolerate getting dry of oil. The release button won't function if they get dry. The ABU's are a whole lot more tolerant of that.

I have several gen1 revo SX still in operation and a gen3 I really like as well but doubt it has the durability of the older ones. time will tell. The kids seem to be all about the shimano SLX, thats all they will buy.
