It was a sunny day, with an intermittent cloud or 2. It was also one of those special sunfish days. Got to the lake at daybreak & was the 1st boat in the parking lot. This almost never happens but since a large portion of the FCL traffic is from the Houston Katy area I just assumed most folks were dealing with the aftermath. When I put the boat in the water I noticed a lot of dead fish floating in the area...too early for lake turnover, so not sure what's going on ? After last weeks good showing for bass my plan was to fish for those guys pretty heavily. I guess the hurricane drove them away. Only caught 2 bass all day even though half my time was wasted fishing for them. The sunfish bite was, however on fire. Ended up wit 153 and had quite a few slabs. Caught 50 at spot 1...30 at spot 2...40 at spot 3...& 33 at spot 4. Left them biting at each spot and especially at 1 pm when it started getting hot. I thought some of these spots were "fished out" but just shows what I know... blablabla

I haven't gotten to fish much lately but the trips I took were very slow for me. Not many fish shallow in the lakes. I had one good trip creek fishing. It's a good time of year for me to fish rivers and creeks.
