Every year it seem like something new. Some new critter comes into the picture. We've had years of mice, cockroaches, termites, ants, grubs, bores, slugs, flies...always something. Well, the neighbor shows up and starts asking about fleas. Says her yard in infested. We've been there for 21 years. I've never seen a flea or a tick but we've had some stray cats show up. Today, found a flea on the dog. Here we go.......

Ordered some granules for the yard and some collars. We've used Adams spray when camping. Figured I'd hose her down with it. Any other suggestions because I start scratching my ear with my foot?

The key to fighting fleas is persistence. Vacuum carpets daily. Treat places pets stay frequently.

We switched this year to Seresto flea collars. They work, nuff said.

If you find them in the house you have to treat the dog and the premise. For the house use aerosols and foggers containing methoprene or (s)-methoprene as an active ingredient - will prevent eggs from eventually emerging into adults.

Dawn Dish soap is extremely effective against fleas and is completely safe for washing your pets. Our new puppy Maggie was infested with fleas the day we brought her home. Day 1 Dawn bath knocked out 95% of them and the rest were gone after the day 2 dawn bath. I know that doesn't help you with the lawn but making sure they don't have a food source and/or breeding ground (your pets) is a major help in a war with fleas.
