We were so poor I had to take care of our swimming pool by myself. Then I had to tow the boat to the lake with an old pickup that only had an 8 track tape player and 2 speakers. We were so poor I had to wear clothes Made in America and not the nice imported custom tailored clothes my friends wore.

We were so poor my granddad would cut holes in our pockets in our britches so we’d have something to play with.
We ate wish sandwich foldovers. Fold a piece of bread and wished we had meat on that bread. I did eat many mayonnaise and ketchup sammiches.
We were so poor Nigerian scammers wired us money.
We were so poor our TV had 2 channels, off and on.
