I said enough is enough when I bought a GLoomis IMX Pro 843C CBR, it is a great rod for small crankbaits. $350+ range I think, a few years ago, full cork handle

$350+ for a square bill cranking rod is wasting money. It is a reaction bite and you do not need a rod that expensive at all.

if you learn to use the same rod for other techniques including those that arent reaction bites, you might not have to buy so many of those cheap POS rods.. stir
roflmao bolt

PS.. I slayed em with that rod and 12 lb test with a spinner bait slow rolled and yo yo'ed along the bottom last weekend on Martin Creek.... in the pads. Probably wouldn't be the rod I would choose to catch them on there but that's what I had rigged up and I wasn't going to stop, retie a squarebill on and look for the reaction bite, in the pads.

If you’ll notice I also had a StCroix inshore avid on the deck.. might have been overkill for the 12.5 bass I caught with it on Naconiche two years ago, but it is just right for the 70 pound tarpon caught with it last month…

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.
