Friend Doyle Holman is in the middle of his annual trip to Alaska to visit his offspring and grandkids, and chase salmon up and down the rivers of Alaska. Thought you might enjoy some pics of his "fishing buddies" up there:

Will post more pics later!

That state is beautiful and still so wild. I pulled a 45lb king from the same river on some light gear and man that was such a blast!

Great pics thanks for sharing.

Wow, those were great, thanks for sharing....

I on the other hand, have issue with sharing my fishing spot with a bear, much less with a bear and her cubs.....they can have it

I got a pic from Doyle showing a HUGE Griz coming up over the bank, down towards the water, and it looks like some 20 or so fishermen clearing out of the water and giving him room AS QUICKLY AS THEY CAN MOVE! If i can get the pic uploaded i will post it.

Most cool!

When a janitorial contractor I worked for in Portland Oregon sent me up to Anchorage several years ago to scrub and wax the concrete floor at the laundry at Fort Richardson, I dropped by a wildlife museum they had there on the base. They had some awesome pictures there with one I'll always remember, it showed one river shoreline packed with fishermen with dang near every one packing a big side arm in a holster on their hip ! One more showed a big bear claiming a big salmon as his, with the fish still hooked from just being caught with the angler backing away in a hurry with his rod still in his hand !
And y'all complain about the rude and nasty fellow anglers here !

I thought the orange blur in the second picture was someone running away from the grizzlie until I saw in the 3rd picture it was some of the plastic hazard fencing material.

Beautiful pictures and fantastic fish. I really like the fact that they are still wearing coats this time of year. I would trade for this 100 degree heat with 200 percent humidity we are having this week.
