Haven't read all of them but a good deal of them... Mostly in college and then when the internet appeared... Dan

I’ve read some of them. Need to go back and start over at this point. Very enlightening.

Yep. Not only have I read them but I teach them to my students so they can see what our govt is supposed to be rather than what it is.

They were produced over a couple years by numerous leaders in order to get states to ratify the Constitution. Essays printed in papers, then later grouped together.
Today some advocates might argue against them as they were supportive of a strong federal government. The US Constitution replaced the Articles of Confederation, which was our first written Constitution. The Articles advocated strong state rights with little federal powers. The powers were so weak that they just didn't work so just 6 years later they had a second Constitutional Convention.

Partly correct. They were written over a period of 6 or 7 months but were published over a couple of years (1787-1789) but they were not written by "numerous people" but rather by 3 men: James Madison, John Jay and Alexander Hamilton.

And in support of ratifying the constitution. Yep. That is correct. For what it is worth John Jay only wrote 6 of the 85 due to illness. Alexander Hamilton wrote about 50 of them and James Madison wrote the rest including #10 which many, including myself, consider the most important one.

One interesting thing to note in both the federslist papers and the US Constitution is that the only armed federal force that must be provided for at all times is the Navy. While both the Army and the Marines existed they are not listed as mandatory and the Air Force and Space Force did not exist back then.
THAT IS HOW IMPORTANT THE NAVY IS TO THIS NATION!
