I think it is less about the new technology and more about just more people fishing. A lot more jigs are in the water these days, ramps are packed... Times are changing as this planet gets over populated. Same issue with duck hunting, same issue with snow skiing. Too many people, everyone is screwing too much is the issue.

Not sure where you are seeing that but my rates aren’t even close to that Check out Grenada lake Crappie Guides 550.00 for two people 400.00 for one Grenada Lake Charters one person 8 hr tour 400,00 two person 600.00

Dan, just cause you can’t catch a limit, don’t be hating on the scope. You Mom hates on the scope... And let me tell you something brother, all I catch is crappie last few trips... I did not keep them but would have limited out if I was... Too bad I was bass fishing. I ve been catching one bass for every 15 crappie. They really like deep diving crankbaits. Esp the bigger ones.

All lakes have up and down cycles and creel limits change but its easy to blame FFS as its the fashionable thing to do. Well they did a study... those with FFS catch 2-3X more fish than those not using it and in the last 3 years its gone from 20% of their anglers using FFS to 70%. That is not blaming FFS, its just what they actually observed. I like their limit. 10 per day, no more than 25 in a boat regardless of number of anglers. People taking limits regularly end up throwing away freezer burned fish a year later. Take what you can use in a day. No one needs 25 crappie. I have to give fish to people who don't have ffs....

I agree with you Dan, I have a rule at home, any fish I keep never gets frozen, I eat it that night or the next day, so I only keep what is needed for 1 meal for us. I’ve been guilty of pitching old freezer burned fish - what a waste

I usually try to refrain from stating what some one besides myself “needs” But I am on board with Mississippi regs 100% FFS make all of us crappie pros , bass not so much

I had the same problem on Sunday evening. I went out specifically wanting to catch some bass. First fish I caught was a monster crappie. Second fish… crappie. So I started checking out some of the docks with side imaging and found that they were pretty much loaded with crappie. No FFS, but I have a Garmin on my kayak. LOVE my Garmin! I may just sell my bass fishing gear and start focusing strictly on crappie! I’ve only been targeting them since February this year, but I think I might have figured this game out! JR

I wonder if the guides will lower their rates. It looks like the going rate is $400.00 for 1 person. Forty dollars per fish! Math is hard
