For most of my lure fishing years, the number of lures I've bought and not used is shameful. Way back when, I'd watch fishing shows and read fishing articles galore believing the hype and misinformation. I couldn't wait until the latest Cabela's and Bass Pro catologs came in the mail and blow money, not realizing that good lure shapes and actions that catch fish are are in the thousands - many that are classic. Proof of the above is in this topic I wrote in March 2024 showing the multitude of soft plastics that catch all kinds of fish annually and seasonally. For the heck of it, I will start taking some hard baits out of mothballs and see what happens. Finding more lures with various strikes triggers-by-design is challenging and fun when fish attack them. Here is the link: Proof that fish of all kinds bite all kinds of lures

Thanks.
Lures are in the eye of the beholder : fish and human. But unlike humans, added to sight are fish senses that detect the most minute differences in lure motion between various lure shapes and actions. Discovering the variety of shapes and actions fish strike shouldn't only be for lure companies.
