Gone are the hoards of crappie, so readily catchable from the bank in the Fall and Winter, being replaced with eater channel cats and the infamous green trash fish, that's how!

Definitely summer. If those green trash fish could pull a little harder they would be more fun to catch. Still better than nothing. roflmao

Actually 3 different locales.1) Bachman Branch; 2) Las Colinas,; 3) Cottonwood Creek

And FINALLY water levels have gone down at Frasier Dam Rec Area and the spillway is currently producing Spotted bass, an occasional largemouth and decent channel cats! Also small crappie. Haven't hit the white bass or hybrids yet but with it being inundated with release water from Lakes Lewisville and Grapevine for almost 3 months, they are bound to be there and in numbers and size. We shall see

I first went out there by parking in the Dr. Pepper parking lot and walking down to the dam. Had no idea it was called Frasier dam. Just for old times sake I should do it again. Not sure if the new trails even existed when I was there last. Had an unusual time last time I hit Las Colinas, fished on the bank on the other side of the road from the inside Crappie hole and caught two channel cat more than 10 pounds each. Saw some rowdy Black guys duke it out after arguing over ? The cops came an I left. There are some things about Dallas I still love and others not so much.

Went back to Frasier today after work. Gates are closed at the upstream lakes! Riverbed is basically dry with a few scattered holes that hold fish. Went ultralight with the very shallow water and found a few dinks.
1 sandie, 1 crappie, 1 spot, 2 channels, and 4 lmbs. Last one caught just as super moon was rising!

I even skip the sand bass myself. It's cats and crappie for me.
