The Zaldain's have clearly made a choice to be controversial to get clicks. If clicks are the best revenue source these days, I would say it is working. Fishing industry sponsors don't want their names tied to someone who is creating controversy in the way the Zaldain's are. So that side of their revenue steam is taking a hit. So the clickbait better work I guess.

I do think Zal is in the wrong here but only by the way he handled it and that's just my opinion. I tend to be a hot head at times so I do get the emotions running high.

This last Saturday me and a friend fished Fork and I think it was the media tournament that was going on. We were fishing a cove (maybe 75 yards wide by 100 yards deep) from the outside in on a road bed and a boat came in the same cove and looked like they were on a bee line to a spot, kind of a smaller pocket within the cove just ahead of us. I initially got a bit frustrated but dialed it back and asked if they were in that tournament. They said yes and that they had found some fish there in practice. Well I was just fun fishing and just there to have a good time is all. I told them we would stay out of their way ( and they thanked us) and we fished the other side of the cove out of there way. Not sure who they were and they seemed to be good dudes! imagine if me and my buddy got all twisted and caused a scene, would have put a stain on both of our days, over a fish!? Hope they did well BTW who ever you were! we had 5 for about 10 even and left at noon,,,caught all of ours n the grass edges

No matter if I am in a tournament or fun fishing, I will never impose another angler. I might fish the same area, but I will be way far enough away to do it, or I might follow that boat from a safe distance.
I will say something if someone comes crashing down on me in an area. I will ask why they have come so close that we can talk between boats. Again, I do not care if I am fishing a tournament or not. It's called "respect"

More times than not, I will just leave, I have never thought that I could win any tournament from just one place. I usually have five or six places that I go to in a tournament to fish and rotate through them. Plus, some of the best spots i have ever found was because all my others places had boats on them and I started looking for newer spots and found a good honey hole.

He sure is, and he’s a little fella having that big of a mouth. But it’s obvious B.A.S.S. won’t do anything to him. He’s still their poster child.

Zaldain was 100% wrong on this, it's a bad look for him for sure. But why would B.A.S.S. be to blame? And what rule was he breaking that would allow them to do anything? He got into a verbal argument on the water with another angler.....that happens in every tournament whether it be on the national trail or your local club level.

Same with his podcast, it's not a B.A.S.S. sponsored pod, and while they're constantly stirring the turd and trying to be controversial at times I'm not sure they're doing anything B.A.S.S. would care about. They have the right to their opinions on what's happening in the fishing world, just like anyone else. For B.A.S.S. to "do anything to him" wouldn't be very American.

But yeah, who the hell did he think he was, and how stupid is he to post this video thinking he'd get some level of support?? Dumb

Why should BASS do something?
1- He was fishing in a sponsored tournament by them. The integrity of each angler represents BASS.
2- BASS has rules for sportsmanship
3- Breaking the rules as to getting too close to another angler without their permission.
4- instigating an argument.

Zaldain sure has gotten a lot of attention for this.
