Who turned on the fan today. 20 mph winds and a falling lake. bang Tough crappie fishing. Caught one crappie today from under one of the docks I fish. clap Hit that sweet spot in between waves and one is always there!!!!

Several brushpiles I normally fish looked like someone tore them apart. I know the GPS is a little off so I circled the area and found the piles scattered. I wonder if the current moved the piles or someone dragging a anchor. O well, I guess I will have to bring my anchor and move them back!!!!

Any else catch an crappie today to speak of?

Finished the day with a 1 person limit of sandbass. All released to catch another day.

we sandbass/ hybrid fished with an easy limit of 50 by 8:30 and some hybrids to go with it. We were back on the dock by 9am cleaning fish.
I crappie fished the other day after I dropped my customers off at there dock. I have a few spots I can pull 10-20 fish from fairly quickly but they cant handle being hit more that a couple of times a week. I have been doing mostly sand bass & hybrid striper trips. You know how CC gets during the hot summer. those crappie get harder to find and the sandbass go bananas. I am looking foreward to October so I can start catching lots of big thick black crappie again from CC.

Great job Chuck, I looked at your website today and saw you had posted todays fish.

You know I hate to get up that early. I got on the water about 0800am and left at 1200. To much wind and it started getting hot. I guess if I fish Friday I will move further south and get up earlier so I can catch the schooling action.

Have you noticed your GPS coordintates are off. Jeff with navionics talked about this in another post. I checked some of mine today and some were right on while other were way off. What have you noticed with your GPS.

The CC crappie bite is waaaaay off, in my opinion. Unstable water along with rising temps have just put a whack on them lately. Cancelled my last 2 trips because of it, but oh well. All bad things will turn themselves around for sure wink

Al,

What website are you using to see release rates for CC? Does it show the water temp also?

Hey CB327, it's http://www.swf-wc.usace.army.mil/cgi-bin/rcshtml.pl?page=Reports&report=fish. I'm not sure if there is a page at this site for water temps. I fished RC this morning, water was 87degrees. I was back on land by 10:30am.

Hey Chuck, you get them crappie to bite today, or you chasin' sandies? I caught about 20 or so sandies on red/chrtrse tube jigs this morning @ RC. Biggest one was about 7" blush, but it was fun! 1- 9.5" crappie, and 1- nice keeper blue-cat, all released to be caught another day smile.

Thanks Al,

I added that link to my favorites. I have not seen that website before.

Thanks Chuck,

I forgot to record the water temp when I was there Monday. I was comparing the trip to previous years trips in my database. In analyzing the data water temperature does not seem to be a factor. The data was comparable to the range you mentioned. I guess the only factors I can identify is the sudden change of the lake levels and releasing water in such a short period of time. All the previous years did not have these factors grouped together.
