Just got myself a new Puma STS and think I could get a better hole shot. What is the best prop people are running on their STS?

What are you running now? What motor? What’s it putting out for speed/rpms?

yeah...guess I left out details. Merc 300 Pro XS. Not sure of RPMs as I was watching trim and jackplate gauges. Prop is a 25p Fury 3 blade.

All the details are kind of important. If that prop is running at the top of your motors rpm range, then there's venting adjustments, etc that can help. If it's NOT running at the top of the rpm range, then we need to find the prop that does, that's where you start.

Great....I've only had the boat out the one time. Am taking it out hopefully tomorrow, so will pay close attention to performance parameters and get back to you.

You should contact BassCat or your dealer. I’m betting on a Fury 24 pitch.

I would wait until after the break in period to start looking at props. Then I would call Steve in Quitman and check the Bass Boat forum.

Yeah, if it's new, it's still in break in. Until the computer lets it go, nobody will know anything. Major detail.

There’s a break in period but Mercs computer does not limit power during it.

Drop down to a 24 Fury on that application for summer time, and it will be that much better when cooler weather hits. People want larger propellers because they ran this big wheel on that other boat, plus it give someone a fuzzy feeling to run bigger propellers, just like tires in trucks. We prefer smaller props on most product.
